It is nominally supported from a "ceiling" by two bolts. Both of those are made of steel and each has a nominal length of 6" and a cross - sectional area of Ab = 1.00in2. Both bolts pass freely (no friction) through holes in the nominally horizontal bar, and there are nuts on the bolts above and below where the rods pass through the holes. The nuts are tightened on both the bottom side and the upper side of the bar. Each bolt has 16 threads per inch. The nuts are adjusted so that the bar is perfectly horizontal and so that both rods are stress free. Then the upper nut on the outermost bolt is loosened and the lower nut is tightened by 1/3 turn. What is the resulting tensile force in the outer rod? By what angle (in radians) does the horizontal rod rotate?
