Question
You've just consumed a large meal of stuffed ravioli at Creelman hall. You suspect the composition of the meal was a mix of saturated fats and protein, from the meat, and polysaccharides (in the form of starch) from the pasta. In addition you consumed a mixed green salad. In order to digest the food your body will initiate several processing steps. Question 17 (1 point) After your meal, any excess triglycerides, protein and carbohydrates from your food will be stored in what form as a short-term and long-term energy source, respectively? Glucose in your blood, and protein in muscle Glycogen in your liver, and fat throughout your body Glucose in your liver, and protein in muscle Glycogen in your blood, and fat throughout your bodyExplanation / Answer
Meal is composition of mix of saturated fats and protein from the meat and polysaccharide from the pasta.
If you eat eat excess triglycerides, proteins and corbohydrates from your food then then your body stores energy as glycogen or fat to use after some time. So these compounds get stored in liver, muscles and fat cells. Some excess calories you may consume from the corbohydrates and also stored in the form of glycogen in primarily in liver and muscles. So once the your glycogen stores full then your body stores excess calories in fat. So adipose tissue stores extra calories in the form of triglycerides which is type of fatty acid which is long term energy source.
Hence second option is correct.
