As we move into different management approaches to water resources we will examine different approaches. Each approach must identify a stakeholder or advocate for the management plan. Respond to the following after your review of Chapters 11 & 12 on stakeholder input to water resources.

How do you ensure that key stakeholders are represented in the water management plan? Distinguish between some of the key participation levels such as information, consultation, participation and empowerment. Address the importance in a balance between informing all and involving a few?.

For Item A
Identifying stakeholders is the first step in the stakeholder involvement process. One helpful technique is to construct a matrix of stakeholders with their corresponding roles and responsibilities. There are a number of other tools and techniques for stakeholder involvement, ranging from village meetings, to open houses, town hall meetings, interviews, surveys, and stakeholder advisory groups containing a representative selection of stakeholders

The issues discussed in this section can be resolved by follwing these points :
1) Involving less and informing and marketing more => This will solve the issu of admimistration and adequate funding,
2)Involving more local stakeholders and local government => This will solve the problem of transparency,continued community participation,ensuring communication and also adequate funding.It will also help in case of desenfranchised.
