You have been hired lo design an amplifier suitable for converting the output voltage (1 mV/ degree C) from an LM35 temperature sensor into a signal that makes use of the full input voltage range (0-to-5 V) of the HCS12 ADC port pins. Assume the LM35 is to measure temperatures from 0 degree C up to +500 degree C. Show work and circuit!

A) They have a bunch of uses. One of the reasons I have used them is to convert between logic levels such as CMOS to TTL. Also, some ICs cannot drive a lot of current, so usually these buffers can be used to drive other ICs. Some datasheets have an "Applications" field that will tell you what the IC is typically used for.In addition to the other answers, they often have an output enable so you can tristate the output if necessary. This just sets the output to high impedance without a voltage so it is sort of disconnected from the circuit.very short delays, such as allowing the data lines to "settle" before the write or load pulse
