Question
Question: A rigid 1 m^3 tank A contains Freon-12 at room temperature, 20 degrees C, at a quality of 70%. This tank is connected by a valve to a vertical cylinder B, which is initially evacuated and has a volume of 0.5 m^3. A pressure of 150 kPa is required to raise the piston from rest in B. The value is now opened and when half the original mass in A has transferred to B, the valve is closed. Eventually, both A and B return to room temperature. Determine the final pressure in tank A and the work done by the Freon in cylinder B. So far, I have solved for: m_A_1=45.8716kg m_A_2=m_B_2=22.9358kg u_A_1=141.159kj/kg I think I need to solve for u_A_2 and u_B_2 but I have no idea how to get there.Explanation / Answer
