Figure 1

a)equivalent resistance=R1+R2=100+220=320 Ohms

b)equivalent resistance=(1000*2200)/(1000+2200)=687.5 Ohms

a)equivalent resistance=100+220+687.5=1007.5 Ohms

b)R1 and R3 are in series

Their resistance=100+1000=1100 Ohms

This is in parallel to 220 Ohms

Their equivalent resistance=(1100*220)/(1100+220)=183.33 Ohms

This is in series with 2200 Ohms

Total resistance of circuit=183.33+2200=2383.33 Ohms
