Question
Safari Fle Edit View History Bookmarks Window Help Part C: Use Voltage and Current Rules to predict circuit behavior. Problems: (Use the rule for voltages and the rule for currents that you discovered above to solve the 1. (a) What is the voltage across the R2 in the circuit below? (Sketch a graph like above if you need to!) Which are the high and low side of this resistor? Which way is the current traveling through this resistor? Rs. (b) What is the voltage across R4? Which are the high and low sides of R4? What direction is the current through R4?Explanation / Answer
Equating the net voltage change in upper loop to be zero, +1.5-2.2+3.5-1.0+V= 0
So, voltage across R2 is |V|= 1.8V. Left is high and right is low side of the resistor and so the current is flowing from left to right through this resistor.
Now, in the lower loop also, +1.0-3.5+V= 0
So, voltage across R4 is V= 2.5V and left is high and right is low for this resistor. Current through this resistor is from left to right.
