2/2/2018 Homework #2 Finalize Note that the net displacement attained depends on direction at each step of travel, whil total distance traveled is simply the sum of distances in each part without regard to direction. As result, the value of the average speed can be very different from that of the average velocity Need Help?ReaditTalk to a Tutor Show My Work (Optional) 2. Question DetailsSerCPS 2.P.045. A ball is thrown vertically upward with a speed of +15.0 m/s. (a) How high does it rise? (b) How long does it take to reach its highest point? (c) How long does the ball take to hit the ground after it reaches its highest point? (d) What is its velocity when it returns to the level from which it started? m/s Need Help? Explanation / Answer

a) height rised = initial speed^2/(2 * g)

height rised = 15^2/(2 * 10)

height rised = 11.25 m

b)

time taken = inital speed/g

time taken = 15/10

time taken = 1.5 s

c)

time taken to reach up and come down is same

hence , time taken to come down = 1.5 s

d) as the final speed will be same as initial speed , just oposite in direction

final velocity = -15 m/s
