Question
Note: For 1e, 2c and 6c, you only get one submission The three displacement vectors in the drawing have magnitudes of A -4.80 m, B-5.40 m, and C- 4.10 m. Find the resultant ( directional angle) of the three vectors by means of the component method. Express the directional angle as an angle above or below the positive or negative x axis. (Assume -17, and -59.. Give an answer between 0 and 90e.) magnitude direction magnitude and Add itional Materials Section 1.8 5 points CJ10 1P047 Two forces are applied to a tree stump to pull it out of the ground. Force FA has a magnitude of 2200 newtons and points is,ge tooth er ease while force Fa has a magnitude of 3159 newtons and points due south, Using the component method, find the magnitude and direction of the resultant force FA+Fo that is applied to the stump. Specify the direction with respect to due east Additional Materials Section 1.8Explanation / Answer
As per chegg guide lines I am working first problem
given vectors
A= 4.8 , B = 5.4 , C= 4.1 , alpha = 17 , beta = 59
resolve vecor into components
Ax = A cos alpha =- 4.8 cos 17= -4.59
Ay = A sin 17 = 4.8 sin 17 =1.4
Bx = B cos beta = 5.4 cos 59 = 2.78
By = B sin beta = 5.4 sin 59 = 4.62
Cx = 0
Cy = C sin 270 = -4.10
Rx = = Ax +Bx + Cx = -1.81
Ry = Ay + By + Cy = 1.92
magnitude sqrt Rx^2 + Ry^2 = 2.63 m
direction theta = tan^-1 ( Ry/ Rx) = tan^-1 ( 1.92/-1.81) = -46.68 degree above the negative x axis
