Note: For all hypothesis testing problems, please make sure that you write the hypotheses, test statistic, p- value, and conclusions in terms of the problem. For each of the following situations, identify the response variable and the populations to be compared, and give I, n, and N 1. (1) A clinical trial is run to compare weight loss programs, and participants are randomly (and equally) assigned to one of the four comparison programs. A total of 20 participants agree to participate in the study and are equally allocated to the four weight loss programs. Weights are measured at baseline and patients are counseled on the proper implementation of the assigned diet. After 8 weeks, the weights are measured again and difference in weight loss for the four groups is compared. Adults 60 years of age with normal bone density, osteopenia, and osteoporosis are selected at random from hospital records and invited to participate in the study. Six participants were selected to form each group. Each participant's ments.
