Construction engineers have estimated the required amount of gravel needed. The Flint N'Chips Company has two gravel pits located in the towns of Grapevine and Irving. The chief dispatcher has calculated the amounts of gravel which can be supplied, according to limits set by union contract and the operating facilities at the two towns. Also, because of union contracts, no more than 40 truckloads may go from Grapevine to Hurst, and at least 40 truckloads but no more than 50 truckloads must be shipped from Irving to Pantego Draw the network.
