a) Insulin is used to reduce the blood glucose levels.If the pancreas did not secrete enough insulin, then glucose (sugar) will not be moved into the cells and there will be high levels of glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia).Cells require glucose as a source of energy and if the cell do not get glucose,they will starve for energy despite of the high levels of glucose in the blood.In response,the adipose tissue starts breaking down fat (lipolysis) and tthe muscle tissue starts breaking down proteins and this results in weight loss.
