niotech rechnique Template Name of the technique CAIl c When do people decide to use this help to answer? technique? What are they trying to learn? What questionis) does this techiique How is this technique performed? What do you need to be able to perform the technique (what goes into t? what ingredients?)? What equipment would be involved? What skills would you need to perform this technique? What are the basic overall steps to complete the technique (not the detailed protocol, just basic overall steps)? What do results from this techn ique look like? What controls are important to interpreting the results?

Explanation / Answer

Cell culture is a technique used to maintain the cells in suitable medium in laboratory condition providing an environment suitable for their growth and multiplication. for long termn in order to use these cells for particular assays.

People do this technique in order to maintaing single culture in pure form. In this way they can use the pure culture to check its activity, and every details a person can gets like biochemical activities, physiological characterstics etc.

By the cell culture technique, the person are trying to know the actual harmful and useful effects of the culture.

2. Performing the cell culture technique: Cell culture is perfomed by the asceptical transfer of the culture from one media to the other in order to get the pure cell line. This technique starts from the isolation of the cultures from environmental source and then purifying it by multiple transfer by technique like pouring, streaking etc. and then maintaing the cultures in best enriched media as well as long term preservation of thes cultures.

For performing the cell culture one lab must be equipped with :

Petriplates, tubes, culture bottle etc. vessel

Media for providing nutrition to the culture.

Incubator for providing the optimum temperature required for the growth of culture.

Shaker to provide proper oxygen and carbon dioxide to the cultures.

Refridgerator for preservation

Microscope to observe any contamination in the cell culture as well as to checj the growth stages of the culture for its healthy growth maintenance

3. Results in cell culture are correct when we will be able to see similar type of cells in a cell line culture. For this we need to take control of the blank media to check whether there is any contamination from outsides.
