Question
O A They wanted to see whether IR strains can be transformed to liS strains O B They wanted to see whether there were colonies on the plate. C. They wanted to see which part of bacteriophages entered the bacteria. e D They wanted to see whether transfection occurred. QUES TION 2 In Avery's experiment, if there were lIS colonies still when DNase was used, but there were fewer colonies compared to to other groups (protease or RNase groups), what could have been responsible? Assume that the results from all control groups were unchanged e A The transformation did not work e B The IIS strains were not killed thoroughly by heat -o c. The precipitation did not work. D The DNase didn't break down all DNA in the heat killed S strains QUESTION 3 In order to repeat Meselsen and Stah's experiment on DNA replication, you grew E.coin caining medun for several generations. Subsequently, you transferred the bacteria to 15N for three generations Predict the density profile of DNA molecules (a sample density profile is shown below, with the light, medium and heavy anrsl gne generation, and two generations after the transfer based on the semi conservative modelExplanation / Answer
i believe the correct answer to be D) the DNAse didnt break down all DNA in the heat killed S strains.
because if it was that the strain was not thoroughly killed, then number of colonies would also appear in other tubes of RNAse and Protease.
