Question
I was given a worksheet of 25 and have completed all but 3. I cannot seem to get the right answer. Could you please help me?7. The "human cannonball" has long been a popular- and extremely dangerous- circus stunt. The record speed at which a person has been shot from a circus cannon is about 24.0 m/s. A Calculate the magnitude of the impulse that the cannon must impart to a human cannonball with a mass of 45.0kg. B What is the magnitude of the force if it accelerates the human cannonball in .700 seconds?
Thank you very much for your help.
Explanation / Answer
if human body nearly stops cannonball then it will impart maximum impulse ,
impulse = mv = 45 x 24 - 0 = 1080 kg-m/s
impulse = F.t
1080 = F X 0.700
F = 1542.857 N force
