Question
Consider The LCR circuit driven by an oscillator with the driving voltage V(t)=V0cos(t). V0=10V, L=(1/2) mH, C=(1/2)mF, and R=1000.
a) Show that the resonant frequency is 1000 Hz.
b)For a given driving frequency f, what is the relationship between the current and the driving voltage? (I(t)=___)
c)If the driving frequency is 1000Hz, what is the current?
d)If the driving frequency becomes very large, what value does the current go to? Explain why.
e)If the driving currency goes to zero (i.e the generator is replaced by a battery, a DC-voltage source), what is the current? Tell why.
Explanation / Answer
w = 1/sqrt(LC)
resonating frequency f = w/2pi
on subtituting L and C we get w ,on subtituing w in this we get resonatinf frequencu as 1000Hz
if the driving frequecny is 1000Hz then current = V0cos(t)/1000
if freqeuncy is too high or zero in either case current will tend to zero
