Question
the questions that are on my homework are....a train is accelerating at a rate of 2.0km/hr/s.
if its initial velocity is 20 km/hr, what is its velocity after 30 seconds?
also...........
a runner achevies a velocity of 11.1 m/s 9s after he begins.
what is his acceleration?
what distance did he cover?
can you please tell me the answer and explain please???
thank you! :)
Explanation / Answer
a=2 km/hr/s=2*1000/(3600) m/s2 =0.556 m/s2 u=20km/hr= 20*5/18 = 5.556m/s velocity after 30 sec..=v=u+a*t ==>v=5.556+(0.556*30)=22.22 m/s =22.22*18/5=80km/hr initial vel of runner=0 u=0 v=11.1 m/s t= 9s v= u+a*t ==>a= (11.1-0)/9 =1.2333 m/s2
