Question
A ball, released from rest, rolls down ramp A, then along the floor, then up ramp B. Rounded segments at the bottoms of the ramps allow the ball to roll smoothly from a ramp to a floor and vice versa.air resistance is negligible.Sketch the balls velocity vs time and acceleration vs time graphs (a detailed description is ok if you can't upload an image) from the moment its released until the moment it reaches its peak on the second ramp. Must know when the balls on ramp a, the floor and ramp b.
Thanks so much! I'm not good at these graphs
Explanation / Answer
Sketch the balls velocity vs time and acceleration vs time graphs (a detailed description is ok if you can't upload an image) from the moment its released until the moment it reaches its peak on the second ramp. Must know when the balls on ramp a, the floor and ramp b.
velocity versus time
when the ball starts rolling the ramp a the velocity will be increasing and reaches a maximum value and with that maximum value moves up the ramp b with decreased velocity till its velocity will become zero.
acceleration versus time
when the ball statrs rolling the ramp a the acceleration will be decreasing and reaches zero value when the ball reaches and moving on the floor the acceleration will become zero and when the ball moves up the floor the acceleration will become negative as the ball moves up the ramp b
