Ans 5:- Peppered moth is an European moth is widespread in Britain and Ireland it has typically white wings with black specks it also exists in various shades of brown or green with small line like appereance that resemble like a bark. The pepperedmoth is the best example used for the investigation of Natural Selection sometimes it is called as Darwin's moth. it is noticed that with the exploration of the industrialization in the towns and cities and because of coal mines and various other environmental factors caused the plants to change into black in colour and the pink colour of moth residing on the trees became easily visible to predators thus this moth started to turn into black colour and thus outnumbered the pink coloured moth, in cities the black coloured moth constituted about 85% of moth. Since the moths are short lived this evolution by natural selection was easily visible.
