Intensity simply how many number of photons are liberated, if more photons are liberated then more number of electrons are absorbs them and emission of electrons takes place and it leads to increase in the current. but even if you increase the intensity there is no change in energy of photon whenever the photon energy doesnot varies then the kinetic energy does not varies. simply the current decided by the intensity and the kinetic energy is decided by the photon frequency or energy.

when higher frequency(E proportional to frequency) some of the energy is used to work function and the remaining is used to kinetic energy for a particular metal work function is constant so higher the frequency then kinetic energy is more.

If the incident photons energy or frequency less than threshold frequency there is no chance even to finish work function and releasing from metal surface.
