Question
Describe the movement of the particle in the x-axis using the concepts learned about position, displacement, velocity, acceleration. Explain in your own words what happens in the intervals of time marked in the graphs and that are related to the movement of the particle. You can use a maximum of two (2) paragraphs for your explanation. Write the document in Microsoft Word that includes the following: Include both graphs separately in each explanation.
Graph 1: Position versus time
Graph 2: Speed ??versus time
20 10 0 0 10 20 30 40 50 t (s)Explanation / Answer
In graph 1 from 0 to 20 sec slope of x v/s t graph is constant so velocity is positive and constant from 0 to 20 sec, from 20 to 30 s slope is increasing(v=dx/dt) so velocity is increasing in x direction and acceleeration is positive, from 30 to 40 slope is decreasing while x is increasing so velocity is positive, decreasing and acceleration is negative, 40 onwards velocity is negative and acceration is negative from 40 to 45 while positive from 45 to 50 as slope in negative direction is decreasing.
Graph2: from 0 to 2 acceration(dv/dt) is positive and constant so x is also increasing, from 2 to 4 velocity is constant and positive so acceleration is zero and x is increasing, from 4 to 6 velocity is decreasing so acceleration is negative but as velocity is still positive so x is increasing.
