T = rxF = r*F*sin theta

Now thrust force is perpendicular to radius, So

sin 90 deg = 1

T = r*Fthrust = 30.8*0.800 = 24.64 N-m

Part B

Since

T = r*F = I*alpha

alpha = T/I

I = moment of inertia = m*r^2

alpha = 24.64/(0.747*30.8^2)

alpha = 0.035 rad/sec^2

linear acceleration is given by:

a = r*alpha

a = 30.8*0.035 = 1.08 m/sec^2
