Question

What does ethics mean to you? Unlocked: Monday, January 15, 2018 6:00 AM EST Monday, January 29, 2018 11:59 PM EST Subscribe As a start to this course, I thought a little introspection was in order. With this in mind, your first assignment on the discussion board will be to respond to the following question: What does ethics mean to your personally? After all, I think it's important that you examine your own personal views before we start honing in on ethics as it relates to engineering. Try to encapsulate your thoughts in about 150 words. In addition to your own reflection, please read through other students' posts and comment on at least one.

Explanation / Answer

According to me, ethics is the foundation of any person's personality. As ethics defines the way of thinking as well as one's the approach to the situations, it is one of the significant parts of the human personality. Ethics is nothing but a person's perspective on any matter, that is right or wrong. For the different persons, the values of ethics may change as we can say that the villain is the hero of the opposite side.
The person and his approach towards the problems and situations define his ethnicity. There are two ways to solve a problem: the right direction and the wrong way. If a person is with pure etics, he will go with the right way; it doesn't matter about the path is hard or not, he will go with the truth. As Earl Warren said, "In civilised life, law floats in a sea of ethics." So, to conclude I will say ethics is the part that defines a person's personality
