Explanation / Answer
14. Seed of pine tree is sporophytic since it germinate to give the sporophytic plant body. Whereas gametophyte is produced during the reproductive phase within the strobilus or cone.
15. The male and female gametophyte of gymnosperms are smaller compared to bryophytes and ferns.
Bryophytes and ferns gametophyte is multicellular but gametophyte is gymnosperms and angiosperms have reduced to few cells. In gymnosperms female gametophyte have 2-3 cells, in angiosperms it has 7 cells.
16. Generally 4-5 sepals and petals are present in typical flower.
Flowers with 4 sepal and petal are called tetramerous and with 5 are called as pentamerous. Even trimerous flowers are present but they have tepals rather than sepals and petals. Where we can not differentiate between sepal and petal.
