Permanent magnet motors:-

The field poles of this motor are essentially made of permanent magnet. A PMDC motor mainly consists of two parts. A stator and an armature. Here the stator which is a steel cylinder.

Series motors:-

In a series DC motor the field is connected in series with the armature. The field is wound with a few turns of large wire because it must carry the full armature current.

Shunt motors:-

A shunt DC motor connects the armature and field windings in parallel or shunt with a common D.C. power source. This type of motor has good velocity instruction even as the load vary, but does not have the starting torque of a series DC motor.
