Question
Question 11 (Mandatory) (1 point) The reaction A +B -C has a Delta G' of -20 kJ/mol at 25° C. Starting under standard conditions, one can predict that: A) at equilibrium, the concentration of B will exceed the concentration of A. B) when A and B are mixed, the reaction will proceed rapidly toward formation of C and does not need enzyme catalysis. C) C will rapidly break down to A+ B. D) at equilibrium, the concentration of C will be less than the concentration of A. E) at equilibrium, the concentration of C will be much greater than the concentration of A or B.Explanation / Answer
The correct answer is option E that is at equilibrium, the concentration of C will be much greater than the concentration of A and B because it is not necesaary that a reaction that has negative delta G do not require enzyme. Negative delta G only tells us that the reaction would occur spontaneously or not but if the magnitude is small then reaction still would require enzyme as catalyst.
