1. Without knowing the exact information regarding the current total power generation in the united states and current consumption in the states, its not possible to tell with 5% annual increase in the power demand, how long the situation is going to sustain without constructing new power plants.

2. Cooling tower or water based cooling is needed in essentially all power plants (Nuclear and Thermal) to remove and dump surplus heat from the steam circuit.
