Question
What is the answer to number 4? Thanks In what way does the operation of a thyristor differ from that of a transistor? What are the two most popular types of thyristor? What are the similarities and differences between an SCR and diode? Compare the way in which the control of an SCR is different when operated from an AC supply than when operated from a AC Keep this DC supply. Name three common SCR case styles. How are two SCRs connected in antiparallel and what purpose does this connection serve? State the most common failed state (short or open) for both SCRs and triacs. How can an ohmmeter be test for this defective condition?Explanation / Answer
when DC supply is given current would carry on to flow upto the anode current interrupts.voltage at scr would vanishes and terminates conducting.power supply is inhibited by placing fuse /series resistance to restrict the short circuit current.
siimilarly when AC supply is given i.e It is possible to detain the triggering of SCR ,anyway by including the few resistance in circuit ,hence raising the voltage drop required ahead which was sufficient to trigger the SCR. suppose you create tougher to electrons to flow with gate through invoving a hard resistance ,the AC voltage can attain a gaint point ahead such that to have a required gate current to ON the SCR.
