Engineers of all disciplines are well placed to promote sustainable development, perhaps more so than any other profession. Implementing sustainable practices can be challenging, particularly when traditional methods are entrenched in an organisation or workplace, which frequently occurs in some fields of engineering. The aim of this assignment is to choose an engineering project or process and critique this practice in terms of compliance with what you deem to be sustainable development. You will first need to articulate your definition of sustainable development, establish a framework for assessment and then critique the practice. You may work with a partner on this assignment and should choose someone with similar interests and with skills that complement yours on this task.

Engineering is the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. Nowadays we engineers found us trapped and entrenched in most of the organizations .Before going any further i must take an example which can focus on this topic.

Suppose we consider case of engineering colleges nowadays. Each college is running after the grades and percentages.The Professor's teaching in few of the private colleges found themselves completely messed up and became puppet of the management. This is particularly case concerned with indian private engineering colleges.

Sustainable development: In this context Professors must perform their prime duty i.e. taking lectures and satisfying students. He/She should not be involved in irrelevant tasks like admissions, placements, infrabuild,etc.

But, the fact is Professor's are forced to do admissions. They are given lollipops like on 2 admissions you get good increments . Now,you decide how can 1 concentrate on academics with this barrier. Secondly you should do marketing too. Placements is also the responsibility of Professor's. The big question is this how can one concentrate with such scene. This is known as degradation of your engineering degree.

This thing must be stopped . Teachers frame your carrier and they should be given respect . I firmly criticize those engineers who opt for professors and then become puppet of management. They should deny irrelevant work for the future of other budding engineers .
