Although the words genetically modified and transgenic are used interchangeably, they do not mean the same. The organism developed by using genetic modifications namely hybridization, mutations, selections etc and alter the genetic compositions of those organisms are known as genetically modified organisms. Transgenics refer to the organisms in whih a gene is induced or inserted into the desired organism for the desired feature.
