Malaria is a disease spread by the Plamodium vivax, which is transmitted through a female anopheles mosquito. The disease is a health risk in many developing countries. In the past, malaria was much widespread and endemic through the United States. It had become a serious health issue.

a. The main reason that malaria is not prominent in the United States is that it has been eliminated in the 1920s to 1940s by the extensive work carried out to focus and control on the diseases spread.

b. The CDC worked extensively on the control and elimination of the disease.

c. Countries in the Central Asia and United States have worked on eliminating the disease. The disease can spread because of unhygienic conditions, which leads to the breeding of these mosquitoes carrying the parasite.

Cholera spreads through contaminated fluids, water and food. The disease is quite contagious. the eartnquakes damage and destroys the infrastructure of an area and kills many people. Apart from this, it can lead to disease outbreaks.

a. The main reason Cholera is spread in earthquakes is because the drinking water and other sources become contaminated with fecal matter.

b. The freshwater supplies become contaminated and the whole area becomes affected because of the consumption of infected water.

c. The body fluids of the infected if comes in contact with the drinking water supplies and groundwater, the disease can quickly convert into an outbreak.

Typhoid is a disease caused by Salmonell typhi. It is spread by contaminated food and water. The supplies may be contaminated by affected people. About 5-10% of people may relapse the fever after few days. cases of relapsing after 70 days have also been reported.

a. The long-term cause of the illness is the dormant forms of the bacterium may cause the fever to relapse making it to be long-term.

b. Apart from this several complications such as intestinal hemorrhage, myocardidtis in the disease cause it to be fatal and long-term.
