Here S. aureus shows positive cogulase test. This indicated that S. aureus can produce cogulase enzyme which converts fibrinogen into fibrin which results in blood clotting. The positive cogulase test shows the presence of S. aureus. S. saprophyticus and S. epidermidis shows negative coagulase test which indicates that these two species cannot produce coagulase enzyme. There are two types of coagulase: bound and free coagulase. Bound coagulase is attached with cell wall of bacteria and shows clumping in the test.
