a.) If you want your flute to be able to play a middle 'A' note, what is the shortest that

you can make your flute?

b.) By putting a small hole in the middle of your flute, you can force the pressure at the

midpoint to be equal to atmospheric pressure when the hole is uncovered. What frequency

of sound will be heard when you play your flute with the air hole uncovered?

so f = v/4L

L = v/(4f) = 343/(4*440)=0.195 m

b)so now will have min at the middle

so f = 3v/4L = 3*343/(4*0.195)=1319.2 Hz
