Question

In simplest terms, evolution can be defined as a change in allele frequency over time. A fact of nature is that allele freqgencies for any given gene are always in a state of flux and for that reason evolution is a fact of nature. At the same time we have theories that help us explain why allele frequencies change in the first place. We call these evolutionary theories and for this section we explored two of these theories... natural selection and genetic drift. The purpose of this discussion board is meant for you to share any ideas or to demystify any difficulties that you may have about evolutionary theory. Feel free to share your thoughts in an open ended but informed way! For your contribution you will receive participation points

Explanation / Answer

Since ages we have known of evolution and that evolution has been responsible in causing the changes in plants, animals and humans since its inception. Though nature has its own ways, these changes that we see are a major component of how the world is functioning today. As they say, change is growth, and the biggest example of that is Mother Nature.

We would want to ask as to why is evolution required and can humans not be exactly how they were when they started, and the answer would be no. Evolution is required. This is because people keep changing and the nature is changing. With humans engaging themselves more in technological advances, there is a change in the nature, with an increase in temperature, reduction in rains. This implies that the nature is not what it was at the advent of humans. As a result, with the changing environment there is a change in the genetic make up of the humans.

If humans would not be able to adjust according to the changing nature, via natural selection, they would be eliminated. They would not be able to withstand environmental stresses and would ultimately die. As a result, in the ways nature is changing, it creates changes in its inhabitants.
