b) 6.40g - T = 6.40a

T - 3.90g =3.90a

6.4g - 3.9g = (6.4 +3.9)a

a = 2.38 m/s2


a) T = 3.90 x (g + 2.38) =47.50 N


c) d =at^2 /2   = 2.38 x 1^2 /2 = 1.19 m
