a. Draw a diagram of a circuit using the same battery and capacitors with the capacitors connected in series. Also draw     the ciruit in parallel. Find the equivalent capacitance for each circuit.
b. For each of the two circuits drawn in part (a) determine the charges on each capacitor.
c. For each of the circuits from part (a) determine the total energy stored by the capacitors. Which configuration stores       the greater amount of energy? Which configuration stores the greater amount of charge?

a) in series case, Cnet = C1+C2/(C1+C2) = 3 micro F


in parallel case, Cnet = C1+C2 = 13.5 micro F

b)

in series case, Q = Cnet*V = 36 micro C( on both capacitors)


in parallel case,

Q1 = C1*V = 108 micro C

Q2 = C2*V = 54 micro C


c)

in series case, U = 0.5*Cnet*v^2 = 216 micro J

in parallel case, U = 0.5*Cnet*v^2 = 972 micro J
