Explanation / Answer

Q.1 Main thing happen in glycolysis are -  A: ATP is produced, B: NADH is released for use in the Electron Transport Chain/System,  F: e- are moved from a higher to a lower energy state, I: H2O is released.

During glycolysis 2 pyruvate molecules are produced pyruvate is 3 carbon compound.

Q.2 Main thing happen in citric acid cycle-  A: ATP is produced

B: NADH is released for use in the Electron Transport Chain/System D: FADH2 is released for use in the Electron Transport Chain/System

F: e- are moved from a higher to a lower energy state

G: CO2 is released, I: H2O is released

Acetyl CoA is produced during linkage step (link between glycolysis and kreb cycle) During linkage step pyruvate gets converted into acetyl CoA which is used for kreb cycle.

Oxygen is not directly involved. But this process is strictly aerobic.

Q.3 Main thing happen in ETS is - A: ATP is produced, H: O2 is used

I: H2O is released. Reducing equivalents(NADH, FADH2) produced during glycolysis, kreb cycle are utilized for ATP production.

Q.4 oxygen needed for aerobic respiration- C:as the electron acceptor in the ETC

During ETS Cyt a3 accepts electron from cyt.a. These electrons are further accepted by 02 to form water molecule. If O2 is not available whole ETS will be blocked.

Q.5 Energy released from aerobic cell respiration= 36ATP. From total oxidation of 1 glucose molecule 36 ATP molecules are released.

Q.6 Aerobic cellular respiration occurs in cytopasm and mitochondria ( both a& d). Glycolysis occur in cytoplasm, Kreb cycle and ETC occur in mitochondria.
