Assume the rope is parallel to the ground and the point where the rope passes over the ledge is frictionless.

Suppose tension in rope is T then at maximum mass T = .335*393*9.8 = 1290.219 N now mass of hiker = 74.9 kg so his weight = 74.9*9.8=734.02N so his friend can have maximum weight = 556.199 or his mass can be maximum = 556.199/9.8= 56.755
