Question

The answer is not correct

Proxima Centauri, the closest star to us besides our own Sun, is 4.10 times 1013 km from Earth. From Zorg, a planet orbiting this star, Gregor places an order at Tony's Pizza in Hoboken, New Jersey, communicating by light signals. Tony's fastest delivery craft travels at 1.00 times 10-4c (The speed of light, designated by the universally recognized symbol c, has a value of 3.00 times 108 m/s). How long does it take Gregor's order to reach Tony's Pizza? How long does Gregor wait between sending the signal and receiving the pizza? If Tony's has a "1000-years-or-it's-free" delivery policy, does Gregor have to pay for the pizza? In free space, light travels in a straight line at constant speed, c. Use the definition of average speed to find the elapsed times called for in this problem. Time taken to deliver the pizza is equal to the sum of time taken to order and deliver. Since Tony's has 1000 y delivery policy, Gregory doesn't have to pay for the pizza

Explanation / Answer

For part (b), it does take 1.3667 * 1012 s for the delivery, but when I do the arithmetic I get:

1.3667 * 1012 s / 31536000 s/y = 43336.7 years

so the total time, message+travel, is 43341 years.
