Question

In a re-creation of Young's double-slit interference experiment, coherent light passes through two parallel slits separated by 1.10mm. The resulting interference pattern is projected onto a screen that is 3.50m from the slits. If the lateral distance between the central maximum and the next maximum is 1.60mm, find the wavelength of the light.
If the intensity at the central maximum is 100W/m^2, find the:
(a)intensity at a lateral distance of y=1.00mm
(b)average intensity between y=0 and y=1.00mm

Thanks:)

Explanation / Answer

Imax must be 50W/m^2 instead of 100, only then you will get 7.35........else your answer is correct
