Question

An automobile accelerates uniformly from zero to 80km/hr in 8.12 seconds. The auto tires have a diameter of 61.2 cm. What is the angular acceleration of the tires in radians/second^2? conversions: 80km/hr->80000 m/3600 = 22.2 m/s Diameter = 61.2 cm -> Radius = 30.6cm ->.306 m I prefer responses from someone who can capture an image of the worked out solution. If not, it's ok, but please do not skip steps. A list of a few equations will not help me. These problems are not graded, I just need to understand HOW to do them. thanks for your help!

Explanation / Answer

v = u + a x t u = 0 v = 80 km/hr = 8000/3600 m/s = 20/9 m/s a= 0.27367 m/s^2 alpha = angular acceleration = a/r = 0.894355 rad/s^2
