Consider the following combination of capacitors with capacitance 2.00 micro Farads for each capacitor provided in the image below

This Question has 3 different parts....

Part A) Calculate the equivalent capacitance of the below network.

Part B) If the equivalent capacitor is charged with a 5.0 V battery, calculate the total charge AND the electrical energy stored in the capacitor.

Part C) Now let the capacitors be replaced by resistors with resistance 5.00 Ohms for each resistor. What is the amount of current the network of resistors draws from a 15.0 V battery.

Part A) Ceq of C3 and C4 = 2 + 2 = 4uF Ceq of 4uF and C2 = 4+2 = 6uF Ceq of 6uF and C1 = Ctotal = (6*2) / (6+2) = 1.5 uF Part B) Q = Ctotal*V = 1.5*5 = 7.5 uC E = 0.5*C*V^2 = 0.5*1.5*10^-6*5^2= 1.875*10^-5 J Part C) R2, R3 and R4 are in parallel 1/Req = 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5 Req = 1.67 ohms Rtotal = R1 + 1.67 = 5+1.67 = 6.67 ohms I = V/R = 15/6.67 = 2.25 A
