Question
Two masses, M1= 2.0 kg and M2= 0.29 kg, are at rest on an air-track with a compressed spring between them. The spring is released; the force on M1as a function of time is shown. Find the speed of M2when t= 20.0 milliseconds.
(Need answer, I will rate it imediatelly 5 starts!) Thanks you!
Explanation / Answer
The force acting on the two masses will be same.
Therefore the force acting on M2 is 48 N from graph.
The acceleration on the body at given t is 48/0.29 kg = 165.5 m/sec^2
Velocity is 165.5*20*10-^-3 = 3.31 m /sec
