Question
Can you give full explanation with equations for this experiment
At this station you will find a computer with an interface for sensors, a cart with a force sensor attached to it, a motion sensor, a stand, a pulley, some string and some masses. The mass of the cart and force sensor should be provided somewhere at the station. Set up the cart so that the mass, hanging over the pulley, will pull the cart. The motion sensor should be able to track the position and/or velocity of the cart and the string should attach to the force sensor. Hang a mass from the end of the string so that it causes the cart to speed up after being released. Report the amount of mass that you have hung on the string. Determine the acceleration of the cart. Explain how you have obtained the acceleration of the cart and report the acceleration. You do not need to report any uncertainties. Mass hung on string: Explanation of how acceleration was measured: Value of acceleration measured: Draw a free body diagram for the cart after it is released. Use your data to determine the size of the frictional force acting on the cart. Explain how you found it, what additional measurements you had to make, and show your calculations.Explanation / Answer
let m1 and m2 be the masses attached
here,m1 > m2
the acceleration of the masses is
a = (m1 - m2/m1 + m2) x g
where g = 9.8 m/s^2
the distance travelled by mass m1 as it falls is
S = (1/2)at^2
where t is time
