Question
An object slides first along an incline plane with an angle of 30 degrees and then continues moving along a horizontal plane.
Calculate the coefficent of kinetic friction if the object travels in the incline plane the same distance as it travels in the horizontal plane.
Assume the same coefficient of friction for the incline and horizontal plane.
(The image shows an object on an inclined triangle with the angle of 30 degrees and the horizontal plane is y=0)

Explanation / Answer
let L is the distance travelled on inclined plane and horizonatl plane
the total work done on the body = 0
workdone on the inclined plane + work done on horizonatl plane = 0
m*g*sin(30)*L - mue*m*g*cos(30)*L -mue*m*g*L = 0
devide the hole equation with m*g*L
sin(30) - mue*cos(30) - mue = 0
mue = sin(30)/(1+cos(30)
mue = 0.268
