Question
I want very very short answer by typing please because sometimes I can’t understand handwriting, so please make sure the answers by typing pleaseThanks unie ule butput current increases ver slightly 1. Describe the effect of temperature on the output voltage of a PV module. 2. Determine the output voltage variation of a PV module when the cell temperature passes from 10°C to 60°C (50 to 140°F) if the PV cell datasheet shows a voltage reduction of 0.5%,°C (0.28%)F). Express your answer as a percentage value. 43
Explanation / Answer
1)
As per question the temperature increases the output voltage of photovoltaic cell decreases.as the temperature decreases the current through the photovoltaiv module decreases but voltage inceases. solar cell efficiency is purly the function of temperature..
efficiency of the PV cell is given by the equation is:
nc = nTref [ 1 - Bref ( Tc - Tref ) + r log10 I(t) ]
Tc - cell temperature
nTref - module electrical efficiency at reference temperature
Tref - reference temperature
I(t) - solar intensity
r - solar radiation co-efficient
from the above equation it is clear the solar cell efficiency is the function of cell temperature..as the temperature increases system performance decreases..
2)
when the temperature changes from 10 degree C to 60 dergree C.so total change in temperature is 50 degree C.
from the datasheet voltager reduction is given by
0.5%/ degree C
hence 50*0.5 = 25%
voltage reduction shall be seen at 60 degree C compared to voltage at 10 degreeC.
