I want very very short answer by typing please because sometimes I can’t understand handwriting, so please make sure the answers by typing please.Describe the effect of temperature on the output current of a PV module. 3. 4. Describe the effect of temperature on the output power produced by a PV module. 5. Determine the output power variation of a PV module when t temperature passes from 60to 10°C(140°F to 50°F) if datasheet shows a power reduction of 0.3%/°C (0.17%"F), answer as a percentage value. the Express your
Explanation / Answer
3. PV(solar cell) module is sensible to temperature changes. As temperature increases the band gap decreases thereby requiring very less energy for the electron to make a transition from valency band to conduction band. Therefore output current increases with increasing temperature i.e. doubles for every 10 °C rise in temperature.
4. The output power of PV(photovoltaic) module increases with decreasing temperature.
5. Since there is a power reduction of 0.3%/oC for 60oC it will be 18% reduction in output power similarly for 10oC it will be 3%. power variation = (18 -3/18)x100 = (15/18)x100 = 83.33%
