Question

16 2.2

choose which diagram option is correct

a b c or d

and short explanation why others diagrams do not work

Chapter 16-Timing and Counting Functions 199 OFF-Delay Motor Control. In a circuit, Motor 2 starts An overload in Motor I shuts down the entire circuit. An overload in Motor 2 affects only Motor 2 circuit is used when a second motor is to run for a short time after the controlling motor has st cooling fan or pump. and runs for a short time after Motor I has stopped. op ped, as in a 2. Complete the wiring diagram for the line diagram. Do not make any wire splices or additional terminal connections on the wiring diagram. All connections must run from terminal screw to terminal screw. START 1) STOP M1 M1 TR TR TR M2 INST TO H3

Explanation / Answer

Diagram C is the correct option.

Small discription why daigrams A,B and D will not work

Diagram A:- In this daigram as motor M1 overloads, the motor M2 doesnot starts as switch off delay is not connected . hence the system gets shutdown and M2 doent work.

Diagram B:- in this diagram also off delay switch is not connected hence motor M2 will not start after the system gets overload. also in this diagram the start switch is connected, which is of no use beacuse M1 is already connected to supply.

Diagram C:- it is the correct diagram because To-Tc are connected hence when M1 gets overload M2 will start.

Diagram D: in this Motor M2 coil is connected to stop switch and not to X2 hence M2 will never start also Off delay switch is at off postion.
