Question
A particle P travels with constant speed on a circle of radius r = 2.85 m and completes one revolution in 20.0 s. The particle passes through O at time t = 0. State the following vectors in magnitude-angle notation (angle relative to the positive direction of x).
A particle P travels with constant speed on a circle of radius r = 2.85 m and completes one revolution in 20.0 s. The particle passes through O at time t = 0. State the following vectors in magnitude-angle notation (angle relative to the positive direction of x).Explanation / Answer
Lets say O is at the top of a circle drawn in front of you, particle moving clockwise
a) At 5 s (1/4 revolution) position is root (2.5^2 + 2.5^2) at 270 deg (straight down)
b) angle is 315 deg at sqrt( 2.5^2 + 2.5^2 - 2 (2.5)(2.5)cos120)
c) 5.0 m at 270 deg
d) root ( 2.5^2 + 2.5^2) at 215 deg
e) take d) divided by 5 sec for v, at same angle
f) Pi/4 m/s at 270 deg
g) Pi/4 m/s at 180 deg
h) a = v^2/r = Pi^2/40 at 180 deg
i) Pi^2/40 at 90 deg
something like that anyway.
