Question
A 255 kg crate is pulled along a level surface by a constant force of 1150 N acting at 36.9 degrees above the horizontal. Friction acts with a coefficient of kinetic friction of .200.
What are the normal force of the surface on the crate?
What is the crates acceleration?
Draw a free body diagram...
Starting from rest the riders of a 250 kg bobsled push on it horizontally for 21 m bringing it up to a speed of 16m/s. Use the work kinetic energy therom to find the constant force they apply. Use average velocity to find out how much power is expanded.
Please show every step and explain how you got the answer.
Explanation / Answer
Normal force is going to be gravity minus the y component of the applied force.
9.8m/s^2*255kg-1150sin36.9=1808.52N
acceleration is going to be the x component of applied force minus friction
1150Ncos36.9-1808.52N*.2 = 557.933N
The free body is going to have gravity going down, normal force going up, applied force going one direction in an uppward angle with friction going horizontally in the opposite direction.
that second question is a completely different question. ask it on a seperate question
